Go to VHP Project Kit

The Veterans History Project in Bellevue Borough was announced on Veterans Day 2002 at the community Veterans Day Service at Andrew Bayne Memorial Park.

The Veterans History Project is motivated by the urgent need to collect the stories and experiences of war veterans while they are still among us, the U.S. Congress created the Veterans History Project in October 2000. For more information on the National project vist the Veterans History Project Home at the Library of Congress site.

Bellevue Borough will use the Andrew Bayne Memorial Park and Library as the center of our Veterans History Project. The park is a memorial to 14 Bellevue residents who were killed in France during World War I.

Local veterans will be interviewed by Northgate High School students.

If you are a veteran of the Bellevue area and would like to participate by being interviewed please contact us.

For more information on participating in the project contact Mayor George Doscher.
