Some very exciting news from the Borough

On Saturday, December 13, 2008, most of the Council members, all department heads, and residents of the community attended a Strategic Planning session from 8 am to 1 pm. Peter C. Johnson, M.D. was the consultant who presented the session.  Dr. Johnson’s program was wonderful and very insightful.  All who attended were very pleased with his presentation.  With all the brainstorming by each attendee the group came up with a Mission statement.  “By 2014 Bellevue will leverage its unique small-town ambiance and city proximity by bridging tradition and progressiveness to be the community of choice in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.”

Now that the participants have defined a Mission Statement and the key points of the strategy plan, the next step is the need to assign the committees and departments within the Borough so that the operational steps can be defined, prioritized, assigned to appropriate people and budgeted.    This strategy of a new plan along with the BIG (Bellevue Initiative for Growth) promises to be the “best in the Burgh” Your support is greatly appreciated and we invite you to attend the Council meetings and become involved in your Bellevue.
